Since 1972, the Lawyer Referral & Information Service has been a public service program of the Maine State Bar Association. The service helps the public find a qualified attorney. Maine Attorneys participate in the Lawyer Referral Service practice in almost every area of law from personal injury to criminal defense.
You can contact the Maine State Bar Association's Lawyer Referral & Information Service either over the phone or through the online referral request form. A staff member of the LRIS will review your information and ask you additional questions. If appropriate, the staff member will refer you to a qualified attorney on a panel most closely related to your legal issue for a $25 fee for the referral fee.
The referral fee of $25 includes a thirty-minute consultation with the attorney so that you can speak directly with the attorney to discuss your case and the attorney fees needed for representation.
The Lawyer Referral & Information Service of the Maine State Bar Association is approved by the American Bar Association's Standing Committee on Lawyer Referral.
