The Alabama Bar Association established a Lawyer Referral Service to help individuals and businesses find a qualified attorney. Participating attorneys serve on various panels based on their practice area.
When you call the Lawyer Referral Service you will discuss your case briefly with a trained staff person in a confidential interview. When appropriate, the staff person will refer you to a local attorney with experience in the needed legal field.
After you receive a referral, you can then contact the attorney's office to schedule the consultation. The attorneys that participate in the service agree not to charge more than $50 for a 30 minute consultation. During the consultation, you can discuss your legal concerns with the attorney and the attorney fees needed for additional representation.
The Lawyer Referral Service is open from Monday through Friday from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. with a lunch breach between 11:30 to 1:30. You can obtain a referral through the website even after normal business hours or on the weekend.
