The Texas Chapters of the American Board of Trial Advocates (TEX-ABOTA) was formed in 1991. The principal office of the corporation in the State of Texas is located at 2003 Indiana Street, Houston, Texas 77019.
Members of ABOTA who practice law in the state of Texas are also members of TEX-ABOTA. With over 1,200 members, TEX-ABOTA is one of the largest regional chapters in the American Board of Trial Advocates (ABOTA). Many of the best personal injury lawyers in Texas are members of this organization.
The purpose of TEX-ABOTA is to foster the preservation and promotion of the civil jury trial right provided by the Seventh Amendment to the U.S. Constitution, to promote the elevation and improvement in the standards of integrity, honor, ethics, and civility in the field of trial advocacy and to promote the independence of the judiciary.
As the regional organization for the 16 chapters in Texas, TEX-ABOTA is a non-profit corporation. Members of the TEX-ABOTA have the opportunity to connect with other ABOTA members across the state.
Under the most current TEX-ABOTA By-Laws were approved in June of 2015, the organization is governed by its Board of Directors and Executive Board comprised of the President, President-elect, Vice-President, Secretary, Treasurer and Immediate Past President of TEX-ABOTA.
