The Association of Business Trial Lawyers (ABTL) was founded in 1972 in Los Angeles, California, to support trial attorneys that practice commercial and business law.
The organization has grown to more than 4,800 members including business litigators across five local chapters in the State of California. Many law firms that have substantial business litigation practices in California have attorneys who are members in the ABTL.
The mission of the ABTL is to promote competence, ethics, professionalism and civility within the commercial and business law community. The ABTA includes both defense attorneys and plaintiff attorneys. It has strong judicial participation in both seminars and social events.
The ABTL also serves its members by proving quality continuing legal education seminars and training programs that promote the exchange of information between the bar and bench. The five local chapters include Northern California in San Francisco, Los Angeles, San Diego, Orange County and the San Joaquin Valley.
